Center for Human-Computer Interaction

The Center for Human-Computer Interaction is an interdisciplinary division within the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Salzburg. Established in 2005 as research unit at the former ICT&S Center, currently 40 researchers study the interplay between humans and computers. Organised into interrelated research groups, it aims to enable desired interactions and explore desirable futures. In dedicated labs we extend this vision to specific contexts, e.g., fabrication experience and car interaction.

Being part of the Center from 2017 to 2019 – as Research Fellow and PhD-Student – I was mostly mostly for the flagship project MMAssist II (Assistance Systems in Production in the Context of Man – Machine Cooperation). In my personal research I looked into the impact of technology on society and work, with a special focus on arts and creative industries.
